Yes, it was bought directly from Japan!
For the finishing, the chassis was extremely fine & with an unexpectedly shiny look! The chassis was so compact and it reminds me of my past Nagra player in the sort of precise finishing!
Regarding the sound, it was a bit thin and lacking of body when singing at the first half to an hour. I just let it play continuously for 1 and a half hour in low volume while I am having my dinner. After I am back, Wow the sound opens up a lot and it really seems the sound comes from another machine! Sound was stunning good and was unexpectedly full & smooth even playing standard quality files! This machine has built in some sample files in a wide range of format, DSD, FLAC etc... I still can hear the improvement between different format though it was just connected to a cheap step down trial for only a few hours. I can hear the sounds continuously improved.....
I think it was still a bit too early to comment for this little machine. But the sound gets fuller & fuller, with plenty of air, details & density! It performs in a very comfortable & natural way! Though the sound wasn't up to audiophile grade honestly, I reckon it still has plenty to go while we give him some more time of "singing"!
I love this baby so much! The drawback is, I still can't find the way to hook up to the Internet radio
And trust me, this machine worth every penny and you can't find a better one within such price range!

By the way, it was an all-in-one machine and the comment was based on the performance including its integrated part...
It can ignore the integrated part and function as source only, directly going to your own integrated/ Pre-power set system

Pity that it doesn't have digital out. That's why I just try their smaller model rather than its elder brother HAP-Z1ES, which is a source only machine.
Moreover Sony was proud of their dac with DSD engine and DSEE system for compensating performance of low quality files! Claims to raise them to the same quality as their DSD sound!

我有靚火牛, 現用平嘅只因牛細件方便插住試機, 而且我重由頭到尾用緊跟機線, 乜都未較求其聽下聲底先...

Yes I have acquired Sony HK before for the model HAP-S1 & HAP-Z1ES. They have replied me no date for importing them. I believe they are not going to import them in view of the high price, comparing to the USB-amp version device which is already available in HK.

I just wonder why people like to say 110v for Japan stuff! Japan should have voltage of 100v indeed!
